The pieces originated with the February 20, 2007 WabiSabi Mardi Gras fundraiser. WabiSabi is about community, value, reuse, respect, authenticity, and joy. Nothing says WabiSabi more than this annual Mardi Gras fundraiser. A hundred or so volunteers put this sold-out event together every year. Eight design teams and 50 models put the show together this year. The 2007 Mardi Gras was sold out even before the show began. $7,500 was raised that night and given out to 12 non-profit WabiSabi Partners.

These images were my first attempt to push the limits of photography. The subject matter was spectacular, but the lighting, backgrounds, and technical quality was lacking. I wanted something to give to the designers and models for all of the work they contributed to WabiSabi. Here are the results.
